Overview

Frame parts hold the active part of a transformer together. We cut, form and drill yoke clamps, flitch plates and support members to the transformer designer's drawings with accurate hole positions.

FAQs

What are transformer frame parts?

Frame parts are the steel structure that holds the core and windings together: top and bottom yoke clamps, flitch plates, tie rods and bars, lifting brackets and support channels. They carry clamping pressure and short-circuit forces and are made to the transformer designer's drawings.

Can frame parts be made in non-magnetic steel?

Yes. Parts close to high leakage flux can be supplied in non-magnetic austenitic stainless steel, or with non-magnetic inserts, to reduce stray losses and local heating.

Who manufactures the parts?

Parts are manufactured within the Ferrokshar Group, in production since 1997. Engineering, project management and on-site support are handled by our team in Toronto, ON.

Who do I deal with?

Our engineering team is your single point of contact, from quote to delivery and after-sales service.
